Tom Harris

Welcome!

I'm a PhD student in economics at the London School of Economics. My research focuses on public economics, environmental economics, and development economics.

Before starting my PhD, I worked as a Predoctoral Fellow for Prof Raj Chetty at Opportunity Insights. Here, I researched how people's social connections shape their economic opportunities using data from Facebook.

I've also worked as a consultant at the World Bank's Development Impact Group, and as an economist in the UK Government Economic Service. I hold a Master's from MIT in Data, Economics and Development Policy.

Outside of research, you can find me playing mediocre football, tennis and chess or planning my next hiking trip.
